Primary Areas of Responsibilities:
Devises, reviews and approves repair dispositions and associated analyses
Ensures that the proposed repair is structurally and functionally equivalent to the blueprint design.
Provides on site technical support; including interpreting Engineering drawings, specifications, and other engineering definition documentation.
Assists in determining if discrepancies are the result of design definition or workmanship issues and documents findings.
Initiates design and process changes to correct design errors that resolve complex, chronic manufacturing problems and ultimately improve produce-ability of the aircraft.
Review discrepant structural conditions and provide disposition for non conformance reports from production.
Participate in corrective action board reviews to provide input / data to support corrective action identification and implementation.
Complete or have completed internal ICON MRB training.
Provide robust coverage & assistance to production operations (composite layup, composite bonding, and final assembly) to ensure that issues related to production and assembly are expeditiously resolved and production rate schedules are met.
Candidate must have flexibility to provide coverage to production operations based on off-shift hours.
B.S. or M.S. in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
Minimum of 5 years of directly related experience in MRB or Stress related roles
Must be fluent in Spanish and English
Working knowledge of standard composite repair methods
Thorough knowledge of composite part lamination, vacuum bagging, cure, trimming and drilling processes.
Thorough knowledge of secondary bonding processes.
Strong hand / classical stress analysis background for both composite and metallic structures.
Finite element method analysis and FEM interrogation experience.
MRB experience in analyzing aircraft structures, including composites and metallic parts.
Composite structural experience for light aircraft, autos or other vehicles
Hands-on composite fabrication experience
Materials and Processing (M&P) oversight
Finite element modelling with FEMAP and NASTRAN experience
