•Help to define and drive procurement strategies that enhance competitive advantage for both COMPANY and customers.
•Act as both risk manager and cost manager in the development and maintenance of strategic supplier relationships.
•Analyze demand/MRP data to determine optimal safety stock, inventory levels, and order quantities utilizing supply base and commodity specific knowledge.
•Manage supplier base to ensure supply of materials, equipment and services in order to meet current and future production needs.
•Effectively manage inventory levels to maximize inventory turns while maintaining a high customer fill rate.
•Develop, document and implement effective transaction reduction & negotiating strategies.
•Benchmark “best practices” for the purpose of improving Company’s purchasing practices.
•Develop and implement cost reduction plans and see them through to completion.
•Measure and manage critical suppliers based on technology, quality, and cost of ownership, flexibility and service.
•Demonstrates exceptional management, communication, and follow through skills in a material supply chain crisis with the ability to coach others in their efforts.
•Regularly presents to management on project status, actions, and next steps.
•Work on special projects as assigned by management.
•Supervises the tactical side of the procurement department. Supervises several direct reports. Manages critical purchases to meet production schedule. Ensures compliance of the purchasing policies and procedures. The internal controls and the integrity of the procurement department are an important part of this position. Must prioritize job duties and perform other activities
