To manage, direct and control the facilities department, which is responsible for construction, modification, maintenance and repair of the plant, and related equipment, Also functions as industrial safety, property security, and janitorial maintenance officer.
-Designs and directs implementation of modification and maintenance programs for facilities and related equipment.
-Meets with external customers, representatives of other companies, and suppliers, in coordination with procurement function, to evaluate alternatives. Recommends or arranges for outside design/development work.
-Participates in project planning and directs projects or segments of larger projects to include scheduling, monitoring costs, resources, workforce loading etc. May give technical direction to engineers, technical contributors, technicians, designers, drafters, model makers or others.
-Implements plant layout, expansion and utility modification projects.
-Assures that facilities modifications, machine installations and modifications comply with Mexican Secretary of Labor, equivalent local agencies, and other pertinent governmental regulations, and QSR’s element 820.70 (c, e, f).
-Responsible for facility and safety programs including the proper maintenance and functioning of electronic security control devices. Coordinates with Human Resources relative to security and safety policies and procedures.
-Contracts facilities maintenance programs such as janitorial, HVAC maintenance and pest control.
-Assures the proper cleaning through the facility contract Janitorial staff.
-Applies quality improvement process related tools as required in problem solving and decision making. Participates actively in quality improvement teams.
-Responsible for budgeting process for the plant facilities and maintenance function.
-B.S. Mechanical/Electrical Engineering/Plant Engineering or equivalent.
-7 or more years in facilities Engineering/Management position desired.
Bilingual: Oral and written communication in English advanced.
