We are currently looking for a Sr Engineer supporting Materials Engineering in based in our Mexicali facility.
Join the Materials Engineering team within the Product Support Engineering organization. You will provide technical consulting for the area of welding and metallurgy in accordance with internal and external customer requirements. You will be responsible for interfacing with design engineers, production engineers, suppliers, and customers to generate purchase and manufacturing specifications regarding the in their end-item configuration.
You will team with other experienced engineers and ensure that material requirements are met on environmental control system and engines and propulsion programs.
YOU MUST HAVE
Bachelor's degree in engineering
Demonstrable knowledge and experience in welding engineering, required 7+ years of experience in welding applications, product design and processing
Knowledge and domain of American Welding Society (AWS) standards
Familiarity and proficiency using AWS D17.1, AWS D17.2, AWS A2.4, and AWS A3.0
Knowledge and experience working with gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW), electron beam welding (EBW), laser beam welding (LBW), resistance welding (RW), inertia welding (IW)
Bachelor's, Master's or PhD degree in Materials Science and Engineering, Metallurgy or aerospace engineering.
AWS certifications:Certified Welding Engineer (CWE).
Experience with Aerospace NADCAP AC7110 requirements.
Experience providing technical guidance for selection and use of metals in product applications, in accordance with Honeywell and industry specifications and requirements
Experience performing drawing reviews to ensure customer and internal material and process requirements are properly incorporated into Honeywell designs
Materials and metallurgy in depth knowledge and experience with welding plus at least basic knowledge in one or more of the following areas for Aerospace applications: brazing, casting, heat treatment, forging, materials testing or nondestructive testing. Knowledge of aerospace materials specifications and the manufacturing processes used to make the part, experience with NADCAP and AMS specification requirements is highly desirable
Experience interfacing suppliers and auditing for process certification and conformity to Honeywell fixed and/or special processes and quality standards
Ability to consistently make timely decisions even in the face of complexity
