Within Fender Musical Instrument Corporation’s (“FMIC”) global Supply Chain team, we are focused on delivering operational excellence to the business and our customers by promoting collaboration, building trust, and setting high standards. Our mission is to support and enable the makers who fuel the pursuit of musical expression. We are currently searching for a talented Packaging Engineer to join our team in Ensenada, Mexico. An American icon, Fender was born in Southern California and has built a worldwide influence extending beyond the studio and the stage. A Fender is more than an instrument; it’s a cultural symbol that resonates globally. The Packaging Engineer designs, tests, and implements packaging designs that are an integral part of FMIC’s Product Development process. They will also review and propose an improvement plan to existing packaging designs to include both labeling and material standards. This individual will work with internal teams (i.e. R&D, Transportation, Manufacturing, Product Management, etc.) and packaging suppliers to achieve functional packaging goals to improve quality, reduce cost, and support compliance for existing and new packaging solutions.
Experiencia y requisitos
What you need • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, packaging engineering, or Industrial Design Engineering. • 3 -5 years of experience in industrial or consumer packaging • Knowledge and understanding of packaging design validation standards, labeling standards, and specification standards are essential. • Demonstrated proficiency in 3D CAD software is needed. • Project management experience • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills. • Must be able to work independently and as part of a team. • Good communication skills, orally and in writing • Understanding of process improvement and quality improvement concepts • Experience in corrugate sourcing and cost savings process of packaging
