Fender Musical Instruments (FMI) is looking for a Safety and Hygiene Specialist for our Ensenada, Mexico location. In this role, you will be responsible for the development of safety programs to ensure compliance with Federal, State and Local regulations. You will be responsible for facility inspections and accident investigations. You will administer related training programs and record keeping systems across the organization. A Fender is more than an instrument; it’s a cultural symbol that resonates globally. About the job: Work with management to oversee overall facility safety. Creates and monitors a monthly safety training plan to promote a safe work environment. Identifies and interprets applicable regulations and proactively informs management of issues and potential solutions. Provides subject matter expert review of procedures, mishap reports, and other documents. Develops, implements and delivers associated training programs. Maintains consistent level of communication with all team members and ensure that they understand and follow all company policies (emergency response & safety), laws and practices. Develops and manages associated record keeping systems and processes. Acquires and maintains all required facility related documents such as MSDS. Participates in meetings and project teams as the safety compliance representative Serves as liaison with regulatory agencies and prepares and submits correspondence to regulatory agencies. Conducts and documents safety and health-related facility and equipment inspections.
Experiencia y requisitos
What you need: Required: Bachelor’s in Health & Safety Management, Industrial Engineer, Chemical Engineer, or related Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in a similar position Prior experience in a high risk/heavy manufacturing environment Knowledge of NOMs Knowledge of applicable legislation as STPS, SEST etc. Experience in ergonomics methodology Experience in accident investigations Experience in risk analysis, machinery equipment or operations. Ability to work collaboratively with all levels in the organization in a team environment. Working knowledge of World Class Safety programs, excellent communication, motivational and organizational skills. Ability to appropriately respond to safety policies and, where needed, provide reports, presentations, information and communications. Strong attention to detail and focus on data integrity, high proficiency in reporting and data analysis. Must have keen influencing skills with ability to hold individuals accountable. Experience developing and executing job safety analysis and implementing behavioral-based safety best practices. Experience with OSHA is desired. Strong personal commitment and high-quality standards. Exceptional Microsoft Office Skills with an emphasis on spreadsheet preparation. English is a plus.
