The Sr Adv Mechanical Design Engineer position is part of the Applied Engineering group within the CTO organization. The Sr Adv Mechanical Design Engineer will be part of a global engineering group that is responsible for material cost savings, productivity improvements, product support, and class II design changes in support of OEM and R&O operations across the network. The key products supported include Original equipment and repair and overhaul of Heat Transfer products and a wide variety of systems and accessories for aircraft, aircraft engines, and other aerospace applications for both commercial and military applications. On-site activities include engineering, manufacturing, and repair and overhaul services. The ideal candidate would be an experienced engineer with strong interpersonal skills, as the position demands frequent interaction with both internal and external customers. The candidate must be capable of exercising initiative and sound judgment. Key Responsibilities · Provide product and technical support to the Mexicali and 23 R&O Global workshops by driving material savings initiatives, product support activities, and Class II design changes per customer or internal requests. · Support the department’s productivity goals for material savings, through Repair Development. · Identify Workscoping opportunities to improve business performance relating to reuse, repair, replace, and extending maintenance manual limits. · Identify and implement aggressive cost reduction initiatives and identify external business opportunities relating to the Repair & Overhaul business · Execute class II design changes to blueprints to enable product flow · Operate as a team member in Continuous Improvement, Six Sigma and Honeywell Operating System (HOS)

Experiencia y requisitos

YOU MUST HAVE *Bilingual English Spanish · Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Electrical or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited university · 5+ years of mechanical engineering experience within the aerospace or automotive industry WE VALUE · DFSS Certified, or can gain certification within 6 months · Lean Expert and Blackbelt certifications · Proven technical skills in blueprint interpretation and manufacturing processes · Ability to read and interpret maintenance manuals, design drawings and related specifications · Possess strong written and verbal communication skills, as the position demands the ability to represent the site in technical discussions with customers and/or regulatory agencies · Familiarity with the specific Honeywell products listed in the site capability list · FAA Regulations knowledge.
