GKN Aerostructures North America is a leader in the manufacturing of advanced composites, complex metal structures, and aero-structure assembly for aircraft including: military fighters and transport, commercial, and general aviation. We employ more than 2,800 people at 12 locations. As a segment of GKN Aerostructures North America, GKN Advanced Composite Structures manufactures components for fixed and rotary wing aircraft. We support most major airframe OEMs through lay-up, fabrication, and assembly of major components such as engine containment cases, empennage sections, floor grids, rotary blades, flight control panels, engine inlet leading edge skins, and other large aircraft structures. We employee over 1200 people in five different facilities across North America. Manufacturing Engineer Manager is the technical leader for Manufacturing Engineering and is responsible for the manufacturing definition and ME related activities within the program / value stream through its lifecycle. The MEM leads the multi-functional Manufacturing Engineering (ME) team that is deployed into the program / values stream and acts as the primary representative for (ME) at all program / technical reviews & externally (with customer & suppliers). Will ensure the manufacturing system meets stakeholder requirements including; technical compliance; adherence to ME processes and standards and compliance business case (including quality; delivery and cost).

Experiencia y requisitos

• Responsible for technical leadership of manufacturing development and integration for production. Resolve issues pertaining to vendor schedule and/or quality. • Leadership of deployed manufacturing engineering team; accountable to the Program Manager for delivering Program technical objectives • Build a Process Control mindset within the deployed engineering team and ensure compliance to function standards/policies. • Accountable for product development, new product quotes, tool fabrication quotes, first article development, configuration changes that involve cost estimation, schedule coordination, build process definition, and implementation. Supports Make v Buy activities. • Responsible for the implementation of tooling and or production planning, from original concept through to production. Design these processes with a high degree of process capabilty utilizing the GKN standard Manufacturing Engineering tool suite to demonstrate as such. • Lead engineering teams to delivers measurable, metrics driven results in line with Value Stream and Program goals. • Maintain positive, team relationships with internal and external customers, as well as co-workers • Continuously improve production processes by implementing Lean initiatives • Performs other duties, tasks and responsibilities as assigned • Bachelors Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience. • 5+ years leading work teams and promoting team members development. • 5+ years experience in regulated industries (Automotive, Aerospace or Medical). • Understanding of aerospace industry standards such as AS9100, National Aerospace Standards, SAE, US mil-standards, ISO9001, Nadcap, etc. • Experience with OEM (Airbus, Boeing, Bell Helicopter, Sikorsky Helicopter, Lockheed Martin, etc.) • Team worker with aptitude for mentoring and coaching. • Demonstrates personal leadership skills; high performance behaviors, self-initiative,
