Descripción y detalle de las actividades

  • Analyze inventory data and trends to identify excess inventory at all levels (raw materials, semi-finished and finished goods), and recommend strategies to reduce excess and improve inventory turnover.
  • Implement inventory reduction strategies by optimizing inventory targets, replenishment parameters (Min/Max, ROP, etc.), and enhancing demand planning and forecasting to avoid overstocking.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams - finance, engineering, production, planning and procurement - to optimize purchase decisions, production schedules, and inventory management practices to align with company goals for reducing inventory.
  • Monitor inventory levels and assess the risk of expiration and obsolescence by taking proactive steps to minimize inventory write-offs.
  • Maintain Excess & Obsolescence (E&O) reports, detailing actions required for each SKU and ensuring that the execution plan aligns with business targets.
  • Develop and maintain a process for identifying and addressing slow-moving or obsolete inventory, including the creation of action plans for final disposition (sale, disposal, or redistribution).
  • Manage and track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to stock levels and inventory turnover, including insights into inventory reduction initiatives and progress toward targets.
  • Work with purchasing and finance teams to identify opportunities for cost savings through inventory optimization and better purchasing strategies.
  • Coordinate with strategic sourcing the implementation of Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) agreements to improve suppliers’ lead times and delivery schedules.
  • Support efforts to streamline and improve inventory management processes and procedures.
  • Train new employees in inventory management process and ERP system use.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or required.

Experiencia y requisitos

  • Ability to calculate and make recommendations for Min/Max and Reorder Points (ROP).
  • Ability to effectively present information and answer questions from groups of managers.      
  • Ability to solve practical problems and manage variables in situations with limited standardizations.   
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions provided in both written and oral form.
  • Advanced proficiency in English. 
  • 4 or more years of experience in inventory management or related fields.
  • Relevant career background or educational qualifications.
