Material Planning • Understand MRP principles • Schedule Production activities • Interpret reports to determine planning and purchase needs • Issue PO's • Issues WO’s • Vendor returns process • Understand delegation of authority • Basic SC concepts (ex. MOQ, QOH, demand) • Manage/track expedites • Effective freight selection Vendor Management • Confident talking to suppliers • Build an ethical relationship with suppliers • Effective material disposition • Provide data for analysis • Abide by company policies and procedures at appropriate level. • Sources appropriate vendors for materials and services required by all departments. • Creates and distributes production schedules based on System demand • Negotiates best price/service mix to meet internal customers and supply/service needs. • Maintain raw material and WIP inventories within turn objectives. • Initiates purchasing improvement and cost reduction programs • Communicate with vendors quality issues involving replacement of materials/services not meeting specified standards. • Generate special and periodic reports as required or directed. • Initiates/Coordinates with Quality Assurance to facilitate returns and corrective actions with vendors. • Coordinates all incoming ocean and air freight shipments for suppliers/commodities assigned • Develops and maintains scheduling policies. • Generate print, kit and maintain work orders. • Perform other related duties as may be reasonably assigned in the course of business. • Develops sourcing projects
