As a Commodity Manager you will improve margin by sourcing, negotiating and managing product details for existing or new vendors. Manage and maintain new and on-going major projects to help the category managers stay focused on product family growth and proprietary development. Leverage best-in-class global practices to lead, develop, deliver and support enterprise wide programs and technology establishing Poly as an ‘employer of choice’. What you’ll do: • Handles implementation of activities across all disciplines. • Under direct supervision, forecasts and communicates engineering, materials, and manufacturing requirements to suppliers. Provides input to outsourcing decisions by performing make versus buy analysis. Coordinates demand signals through MRP to minimize inventory exposure. • Coordinates product development process deliverables with team members (buyers, planners, production control). • Supports the creation, releases, and updates to new project materials strategy. • Participates in materials planning exercises. • Participates in the material change control change process. • Assists in supplier price and delivery negotiations; under direct supervision may negotiate contracts as necessary. • Utilizes the preferred supplier selection and assessment process when selecting suppliers. Completes supplier risk assessment on critical and unique parts. • Monitors supplier performance (delivery, quality, cost). • Meets cost objectives and resolves quality issues. Generates and publishes Key Process Indicators (KPI). Tracks total landed costs targets. • Under direct supervision, mediate and partner in the resolution of supplier quality issues for assigned product groups.
Experiencia y requisitos
We’d love to hear from you if: • BS in Engineering (Industrial Design, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or similar). • 3+ years of experience of formal new product development process. •3+ years of experience in managing projects. • 90% English spoken and written. • 90% Mandarin spoken and written (optional). • MBA or equivalent, Project Management certification. • Excellent communication, attitude and team work skills. • Strong project management skills. • Knowledge of MRP/ERP and material planning processes. • Operate within a team environment, including with individuals in various geographic locations.
