The Quality Engineer is responsible for: Develops and maintains quality standards, plans, and procedures to ensure our products meet required specifications, standards and systems. The Quality Engineer will lead multi-departmental action teams to implement quality initiatives and improvements. Lead quality improvement projects. Work with Production personnel in developing and implementing ideas for improvement of the products and Manufacturing process. Measure the performance of the manufacturing processes in relation to product field failures and quantify how well those processes meet the designed quality standards. Provide “lessons learned” inputs to improve Design Manufacturing, reduce non-conformances, lower cost and maximize production capacity. Implement improvement program that are consistent with Lean manufacturing practices Assist the Director/Manager of Quality in optimizing the Quality system. Support new product introductions ensuring the robustness of product builds. Control MRB area and dispose materials. Leading MRB meetings to take actions to eliminate cause of defects. Control point for all corrective actions. o Collect information regarding defects produced by TEC, (internal and external defects.) o Organize and drive corrective actions o Make corrective action assignments to process engineers and manage their progress o Develop comprehensive corrective action reporting Train organization in proper methodologies for application of statistical techniques, problem solving, cause investigation, and implementation of corrective actions. Perform process audits of manufacturing quality system Perform product inspections May train and supervise 1 QC inspector and 1 quality auditor Perform other duties assigned.
Experiencia y requisitos
B.S. degreeon electromechanical engineering, insutrial engineering, mechanical engineering or related with at least 4-7 years of experience. Understanding of Service Center / RMA Operations Understanding of data analysis and root cause tools including 8D, Failure Rate, Prediction, Pareto, SPC, etc. Working knowledge of MS (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Oracle is a plus Experience in electromechanical manufacturing including woodworking, plastics, metals. DFM experience is a plus ASQ Certification, Black Belt, and working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles is a plus Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, English and Spanish, necessary to develop and maintain relationships at all levels in order to identify and resolve obstacles and facilitate results.
