Nicholson, and stood for "Retail Grocery Inventory Service." He felt that an outside service could offer potential customers savings in time & money while certifying the results of their inventories. Therefore, armed with pencils, clipboards, a few adding machines and his two sons, he began conducting inventories. Soon after the business expanded to all types of stores throughout the midwest.
