What You'll Do
As a Junior Supply Chain Specialist , you will:
- Prepare, issue, and follow up on raw material purchase orders, ensuring alignment with production needs
- Review part numbers daily to identify supply needs and follow-up actions based on defined priorities and guidelines.
- Coordinate with suppliers to obtain and follow up on quotations, documenting prices, lead times, and purchasing terms to support analysis and decision-making within the Purchasing department.
- Support the review of price, quality, service, and lead time comparisons to document information that facilitates purchasing decisions.
- Monitor the status of open purchase orders to follow up on on-time deliveries, identify supply risks, and promptly escalate any potential impact to operations.
- Follow up on discrepancies in received materials, including differences in quality, quantity, packaging, or delivery timing, coordinating actions with suppliers and internal teams through closure.
- Support the setup and update of basic supply parameters for new part numbers in the applicable systems, including Kanban, enterprise resource planning (ERP), bin size, and lead time, in accordance with established guidelines.
- Support the review and update of supply parameters such as reorder point (ROP), safety stock, minimum order quantity (MOQ), lead time, and bin size, based on information and criteria defined by the Purchasing department.
- Identify special material requirements and communicate needs for parameter adjustments or recalculations to the appropriate team.
- Follow up on inventory levels in accordance with company policies and requirements, identifying potential risks of excess or shortages and communicating them promptly to define preventive actions.
- Participate in follow-up meetings with suppliers and internal teams to review critical materials, recovery plans, and supply priorities.
- Support basic supplier performance follow-up related to delivery compliance, response times, and quality, documenting relevant deviations.
- Responsible for behaving in a professional manner both internally and externally in relationships that positively impact the company's reputation and comply with the company's policies and practices.
- Responsible for being accountable and committed to demonstrating Breg’s cultural beliefs and achieving the company’s expected results.
- Responsible for promoting Breg's culture within the organization using established tools such as storytelling, providing focused feedback, and recognition. What You Bring
• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, Logistics, or a related field.
• 0 to 2 years of experience in Purchasing, Supply Chain, Material Planning, or related areas; internship experience is acceptable.
• Basic knowledge of purchasing, supply chain processes, and Material Requirements Planning (MRP), with familiarity with Kanban systems and experience using ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, QAD, or Epicor.
• Proficient in computer applications, including web browsing/internet research, Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, Project, and PowerPoint. Technical proficiency includes the ability to quickly learn new software applications and systems.
• Experience using AI-powered productivity tools such as Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, or Claude is required/preferred.
Compensation
Actual compensation is determined by factors such as experience, skills, and business needs. Actual pay is based on many factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to geographical location, work experience, skill set, relevant trainings and certifications, and business needs. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This role may also be eligible for bonus.
