Micrometals is starting up operations in Mexicali

Micrometals has been a leading global manufacturer of inductor cores for over 65 years.

Micrometals cores are found in thousands of applications around the world, from the most cutting-edge flat-screen TVs to power conditioning systems, to electric vehicles, to the engines that power

offshore oil rigs.

 

  • The Manufacturing Engineer I supports daily manufacturing operations through hands-on involvement in processing documentation, data analysis, and production troubleshooting. This entry-level role is focused on shop floor support, working closely with production teams and operating under the guidance of senior management.
  • The position provides exposure to powder compaction using high-tonnage presses and special processes such as powder coating and paint, while ensuring adherence to quality, safety, and operational requirements. This role includes regular interaction with international teams, supporting global manufacturing standards and best practices. Provide day-to-day manufacturing support on the production floor.
  • Assist in troubleshooting process deviations, quality defects, and equipment-related issues
  • Develop, update, and maintain work instructions, SOPs, control plans, and process flow diagrams. Participate in continuous improvement activities.
  • Support metal-mechanical operations, including powder compression and surface finishing processes.
  • Collaborate with Production, Quality, Maintenance, and Engineering teams.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality

Experiencia y requisitos

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Industrial Engineering, or related field. 
  • 0–2 years of experience in manufacturing or industrial environments (internships acceptable).
  • English Fluid
  • CAD Software:
  • Manufacturing Processes: Understanding of machining, assembly, tooling, and materials.
  • Quality Tools: Familiarity with SPC, FMEA, DOE, and Root Cause Analysis.
  • Continuous Improvement: Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma.
  • Technical Documentation: Ability to read and interpret technical drawings/diagrams.
