Descripción y detalle de las actividades

  • Serve as the primary communication link between customers and internal departments, ensuring customer requirements, order status, schedule changes, pricing changes, and concerns are communicated accurately and promptly.
  • Obtain customer purchase orders, enter and maintain sales orders and purchase order details in the ERP system, and prepare and forward order confirmations to customers.
  • Coordinate with Production Control regarding order status, scheduling updates, delivery requirements, material availability, and other issues that may impact customer commitments.
  • Ensure customer-supplied materials, components, documentation, specifications, and other required items are received as needed to support production.
  • When technical inquiries arise, coordinate with Engineering, Quality, Production, Tooling, Program Management, and other technical personnel to provide timely and accurate responses to customers.
  • Source and qualify vendors for thermoplastic resins, engineered polymers, colorants, additives, inserts, fasteners, packaging, purchased components, and other materials required for injection molding production.
  • Develop and maintain a competitive supplier base by identifying new vendors, alternate sources, and second-source options to reduce cost and supply-chain risk.
  • Prepare and issue RFQs, analyze supplier quotations, compare total landed cost, and make sourcing recommendations based on price, quality, lead time, capacity, service, and technical capability.
  • Negotiate material and component pricing, payment terms, freight terms, minimum order quantities, lead times, tooling or setup charges, annual agreements, stocking agreements, and other commercial conditions with suppliers.
  • Lead cost-reduction initiatives and support annual price negotiations, supplier consolidation, and value-analysis opportunities while maintaining required quality and performance standards.
  • Coordinate with Sales, Program Management, Purchasing, and Accounting to identify cost changes.

Experiencia y requisitos

  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office/365 and advanced spreadsheet use.
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English
  • Working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems, including sales order, purchasing, and sourcing functions.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate professionally with customers, suppliers, and internal departments.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate quotations, cost breakdowns, pricing changes, and total landed cost.
  • Strong negotiation, supplier-management, customer-service, and commercial communication skills.
  • Understanding of injection molding materials, purchased components, and manufacturing supply chains preferred.
  • Ability to read basic drawings, specifications, bills of material, and material callouts.
  • Strong attention to detail, follow-up, organization, and ability to manage multiple customer and sourcing priorities.
  • Ability to coordinate across multiple departments, manage customer expectations, and communicate changes professionally.
