Sr Buyer

POSITION SUMMARY

This position performs a variety of activities of procurement planning, negotiation and follow up activities to provide a variety of commodities in support of the planning process and manufacturing.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage and develop suppliers to ensure optimal quality and delivery.
• Develop, maintain and foster strong supplier relationships.
• Support engineering, production and quality on any changes or projects related to raw material or MRO purchases.
• Using problem solving tools (5W, A3, VSM, Kaizen Etc.) to solve specific problems related to supplier deliveries and cost.
• Procure material in accordance with BOM and Jobs related to specific projects.
• Ensure system key parameters are maintained (price, lead times, MOQ, primary supplier) to improve supplier and customer on time delivery, minimize inventory levels as well as shortages.
• Conduct supplier visit as required and participate on the qualification of quality system audits.
• Validate prices prior to purchases to ensure PPV is not impacted.
• Make sure invoices on hold are fixed and work on root causes to prevent recurrence
