Sr. Cost Accountant

The Senior Cost Accountant is responsible for managing, analyzing, and optimizing inventory valuation and manufacturing costs across multiple manufacturing sites in Mexico and the U.S. This role supports global reporting requirements and serves as a key financial partner to Operations and Supply Chain teams.

The position drives inventory accuracy, cost visibility, and margin performance, while ensuring consistent costing methodologies and inventory controls across all supported locations. The role requires comfort working in a multi‑site, cross‑border manufacturing environment and the ability to improve processes and reporting in a fast‑paced setting.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide cost and inventory accounting support to manufacturing plants in Mexico and the United States, ensuring consistent application of costing and inventory policies.
• Analyze manufacturing costs, inventory movements, and production variances to ensure accurate inventory valuation and financial reporting.
• Own multi‑site inventory accounting processes, including reconciliations, adjustments, excess and obsolete reserves, and cycle count variance analysis.
• Prepare and analyze COGS, inventory roll‑forwards, and production cost reports by plant, highlighting key drivers and trends.
• Support standard cost setting, annual cost roll processes, and variance analysis across all sites.
• Partner with Operations, Supply Chain, and Plant Finance teams to identify cost reduction and inventory optimization opportunities.
• Maintain inventory and cost reporting packages, support monthly close activities, and perform balance sheet reconciliations in compliance with internal controls and accounting standards.
• Participate in forecasting and budgeting processes with a focus on inventory, production costs, and margin impact.
• Support special projects and provide actionable insights to management to drive operational and strategic decision‑making.
