Descripción y detalle de las actividades

  • Responsible for ensuring all imports and exports comply with customs laws and international regulations, minimizing legal and financial risks.
  • Ensure compliance with the Customs Law, General Rules for Foreign Trade (RGCE), and applicable international treaties.
  • Design, implement, and maintain customs compliance programs.
  • Lead internal audits and liaise with authorities.
  • Manage tariff classification, valuation, and origin of goods.
  • Coordinate with customs brokers and authorities.
  • Identify risks and develop mitigation plans.
  • Train internal departments on compliance matters.
  • Prepare reports for management and corporate headquarters.
  • Manage and maintain procedures for the operation of one or more import, export, and compliance areas (systematically reporting to the Tax Administration Service (SAT)).
  • Responsible for generating information on materials (in stock, orders, changes, and returns).
  • Create procedures for the smooth operation of import, export, logistics, and customs compliance processes.
  • Program Management: Administer incentive programs. (IMMEX, PROSEC, VAT Certification) and control Annex 24 and Annex 30
  • Classification and Documentation: Supervise the correct tariff classification, foreign trade files, and customs declarations (Annex 22)
  • Audit and Risk: Conduct periodic internal audits, manage external audits, and develop operating procedures
  • Other activities assigned by your immediate supervisor regarding compliance, imports, exports, and recertifications
  • Perform all other activities that arise naturally from the operation and/or are assigned or requested by your immediate supervisor
  • Develop and analyze lists of raw materials and purchased parts required for product manufacturing
  • Direct communication with corporate offices in Mexico and the USA regarding trade compliance
  • Define and implement global foreign trade strategies aligned with corporate objectives

Experiencia y requisitos

  • Bachelor's degree in International Trade, Customs Compliance, Tax Law, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
  • Master's degree in International Trade, Tax/Customs Law, and Compliance.
  • 7 to 10 years of experience in international trade or customs compliance.
  • 4 to 6 years in leadership positions.
  • Advanced English
  • Experience in import/export, recertifications, audits, and dealings with authorities.
  • Customs Law and General Rules for Foreign Trade (RGCE).
  • USMCA/T-MEC
  • IMMEX (Annexes 24 and 30)/PROSEC
  • CTPAT/AEO/CIVA
  • Customs and tax audits.
  • Document management and internal controls.
