1. Position Overview
The Automotive EMC Test Engineer is responsible for the validation of audio amplifiers for automotive applications. This role involves reviewing, performing, and coordinating EMC validation tests, as well as driving design efforts toward EMC compliance.
EMC testing spans all phases of the product lifecycle, including Advanced Development, Engineering Evaluation, Design Validation, Process Validation, and Continuous Engineering for automotive products.
2. Key Responsibilities
The following are the primary responsibilities of this role (additional duties may be assigned as needed):
- Maintain DQE’s Quality Management System in compliance with ISO 17025 as defined within the laboratory scope
- Manage and maintain the EMC DQE Test Laboratory, including schedules, equipment, and personnel
- Develop detailed EMC validation test plans and procedures based on OEM customer requirements
- Collaborate with development teams and DQE engineers to ensure the EMC lab meets design, customer, supplier, and international standard requirements
- Effectively manage both in-house and outsourced EMC test laboratories
- Coordinate EMC test setups to ensure adherence to best laboratory practices
- Prepare compliance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing measurement data and trends
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives for EMC lab processes, procedures, and tools to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and repeatability
- Provide training and guidance to engineers and staff on EMC principles and best practices
Experiencia y requisitos
3. Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering
Experience:
- 5+ years of EMC testing experience in a fast-paced, large-scale, industrial, client-focused electronic design environment (automotive experience strongly preferred)
Language:
- Advanced English proficiency (80%+)
Technical Skills:
- Experience with standards such as CISPR 25, ISO 11452, ISO 7637, and ISO 10605 preferred
- Experience with ISO 17025 laboratory compliance
- Familiarity with Rohde & Schwarz EMC32/Elektra measurement software preferred
- Working knowledge of EMC circuits and mitigation techniques
- Understanding of automotive/OEM industry and amplifier technology is a plus
