Descripción y detalle de las actividades

  • Lead, direct, manage, and develop employees to ensure a highly motivated team with a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
  • Clarify the vision: train and guide our team in Mexico to enable them to achieve H&S strategy and fundamentals.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of long- and short-term H&S plans to achieve H&S strategy and fundamentals.
  • Lead H&S advisory services for the Mexico business unit.
  • Collaborate with executives across the company—both in Mexico and at the corporate level—to foster an understanding of how work is performed.
  • Train senior members of site teams in Mexico on their roles as leaders, ensuring they understand and are aware of competing priorities and pressures, and how these may affect individuals' ability to work safely and effectively.
  • Promote authentic and widespread employee engagement in health and safety initiatives.
  • Look to the future: provide insight into the evolving landscape of safety risks within the company.
  • Facilitate proactive decision-making that drives safe and successful operational outcomes on a day-to-day basis.
  • Provide support for the continuous improvement of safety leadership to ensure an aligned approach toward achieving H&S objectives.
  • Support the development and enhancement of an H&S management system that is fit for purpose, risk-based, and aligned with H&S strategy and fundamentals.
  • Ensure that the processes facilitating the flow of H&S information to and from business leadership and their teams are both effective and efficient.
  • Monitor and analyze business practices and periodic performance reports to identify key trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • Drive the H&S strategy and vision, guide H&S systems and procedures in Mexico, and successfully implement and integrate work programs within the business.
  • Ensure timely and accurate support and advice for the business in Mexico to facilitate alignment with our H&S fundamentals.

Experiencia y requisitos

  • Professional career with a degree relevant to H&S, and at least 10+ years of senior-level H&S experience within a high-volume, global organization (medical sector experience is desirable).
  • Experience in people management.
  • Significant experience providing advisory services within an organization recognized as a leader in health and science.
  • Demonstrated ability to engage and influence others—including senior management—to build trusting relationships.
  • A collaborative, consultative, and pragmatic approach.
  • Proficiency in, and working knowledge of, Mexican legislation and Health and Safety Management Systems.
  • Project Management.
  • Extensive knowledge of ergonomics management.
  • Relevant expertise in the development and implementation of ISO 45001.
  • Skills in reviewing and investigating critical risk incidents (ICAM).
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, in Spanish and English (advanced level).
