Position Overview
The Jr. Production Control Planner brings hands-on experience in production control within either high-mix/low-volume or high-volume/low-mix manufacturing environments. This role supports materials management, production line balancing, and capacity planning activities. The position is responsible for providing accurate reporting to Outset Medical’s management team regarding production
plan attainment. It applies Materials Management and APICS principles to evaluate material flow, monitor inventory levels, and ensure alignment between production schedules and operational capacity.
Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities
- Analyzes demand vs. capacity to identify and report potential gaps affecting production output.
- Utilizes multiple systems to collect and analyze data, including:
QAD (ERP system) – for production planning, work orders, inventory, and material flow.
Tulip (Manufacturing Execution System – MES) – For real-time production tracking, operator inputs, and process visibility on the production floor.
- Performs Work Order (WO) variation analysis to understand discrepancies and drive corrective actions.
- Works directly with production floor teams, providing guidance and influence to help achieve daily/weekly production goals.
- Prepares and reports weekly production attainment, highlighting key drivers of performance and areas for improvement.
- Supports and participates in continuous improvement initiatives aimed at improving efficiency, reducing waste, and standardizing processes.
- Demonstrates the ability to meet tight deadlines through effective prioritization and problem-solving.
- Supports additional operational and analytical activities as needed.
Experiencia y requisitos
Required Qualifications
- B.S. in Industrial Engineering, Logistics, IT, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in production control within a manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated ability to support cross-functional initiatives and collaborate with teams across Operations, Supply Chain, and IT.
- Proven ability to develop and maintain clear documentation, including specifications and procedures.
- Strong coordination, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- English proficiency (written and verbal).
Desired Qualifications
- Advanced Excel skills.
- Strong analytical, communication (verbal and written), and presentation abilities.
