Descripción y detalle de las actividades

  • Responsible for identifying, owning, and driving injection molding improvements while ensuring compliance with established product design requirements, scientific injection molding processes, tooling, resins, and equipment.
  • A key responsibility of this role is to proactively identify and execute injection molding initiatives, manage large-scale projects, and drive change to prevent future customer complaints and manufacturing challenges.
  • The Molding Engineer is expected to complete complex engineering projects with input from peers and guidance from Engineering Management.
  • Work on advanced and complex technical projects or business matters that require state-of-the-art technical or industry knowledge.
  • Work is performed with a high level of autonomy, where objectives are generally communicated in terms of project goals or desired outcomes.
  • The Molding Engineer will make consistent decisions aligned with the overall goals and objectives of significant programs or organizational segments and may provide leadership to the workgroup through expertise in the area of specialization.
  • Work directly with management to translate product strategy into actionable execution.
  • Conduct research of considerable complexity related to the development of new designs, methods, materials, or processes, and evaluate potential applications of the results.
  • Define parameters and boundaries for lower-level design activities.
  • Establish performance metrics for key system elements.

Experiencia y requisitos

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
  • +6 years of experience in a similar role within the medical device industry.
  • Strong understanding of strength of materials, automation, thermoplastic and LSR injection molding, part assembly, fixturing, testing, and process control techniques.
  • Risk management experience, including FMEA development.
  • Six Sigma methodology (DOE, Process Capability, Measurement System Analysis – Gage R&R, etc.); experience using Minitab for statistical analysis.
  • Knowledge of the medical device industry and familiarity with FDA QSR regulations.
  • Master Molder training/certification or demonstrated knowledge of Scientific Injection Molding principles, including processes, tooling, part design, materials, and equipment.
  • Deep understanding of engineering best practices with demonstrated subject-matter expertise in the discipline.
  • Advanced English proficiency.
