About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated Automation Engineering Intern to support the deployment of a new production monitoring and digital manufacturing system within our regulated medical device manufacturing

environment.  This role offers hands‑on exposure to industrial automation, software systems, and production equipment, while working directly alongside a Senior Automation Engineer.

Role Activates

  • Work directly with a Senior Automation Engineer to support the deployment of a production monitoring and digital manufacturing system in a regulated medical device environment.
  • Learn in depth how manufacturing processes, production equipment, industrial automation, and digital systems operate within a medical‑grade environment.
  • Author and maintain technical and non‑technical documentation in alignment with medical device quality and compliance standards.
  • Assist with software configuration, testing, validation activities, and preparation of engineering evidence for regulated systems.
  • Support integration activities involving industrial equipment, automation systems, network‑connected devices, and data platforms.
  • Participate in on‑site activities including system installation, data verification, and production floor assessments.
  • Assist with basic troubleshooting, log analysis, data verification, and system diagnostics under engineering supervision.
  • Collaborate with production, engineering, quality, and cross‑functional teams to understand operational and compliance requirements.
  • Conduct training sessions with production collaborators across day, afternoon, and night shifts, as required, to ensure proper system adoption and operational readiness.

Experiencia y requisitos

Candidates must submit their CV in English. 

  • Language: Bilingual (Spanish–English) with strong spoken English.
  • Education Status:
  1. Recently graduated (preferred) from an engineering program (Automation, Mechatronics, Electronics, Systems/Computer Engineering, or related fields).
  2. Final‑semester engineering student (8th–9th semester) completing required professional practice / engineering hours.
  • Strong interest in automation, software systems, industrial technology, or digital manufacturing.
  • Ability to read, understand, and translate technical documentation in English.

  • Foundational knowledge in:
  • Computer systems (Windows OS, file systems, troubleshooting)
  • Networking fundamentals (IP addressing, Ethernet, connectivity)
  • Industrial/automation concepts (sensors, controls, equipment – preferred)
  • High learning capability, strong initiative, and willingness to self‑learn using documentation and structured training.
  • Professional attitude, strong work ethic, and ability to operate in a regulated engineering environment.
  • Willingness, when required, to work afternoon or night shift to support training sessions, deployment activities, or production‑aligned engineering tasks.
