Sr. Manufacturing Engineer focused on problem solving and sustaining the product lines under his charge, manages, leads and executes medium-high impact projects for the company. He implements improvements that benefit the product cost, quality and performance of the product lines.
Management of skills in negotiation with operations leaders, influences work teams, clearly and assertively communicates information related to Engineering activities and projects.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Performs engineering work requiring full competence in all conventional aspects of engineering. Plans and performs work requiring judgment in the independent evaluation, selection, and substantial adaptation of standard engineering techniques, procedures, and requirements. Plan and coordinate detailed phases of engineering actions for a project or activity.
• Lead the effort to implement improvements in existing manufacturing areas at the Tijuana site.
• Performs engineering activities of intermediate-high scope or degree of difficulty. Performs assignments independently of product-related troubleshooting tasks.
• Perform design and manufacturing tests.
• Prepares documentation associated with engineering activities.
• It always carries out its activities taking care of and having the safety of the process and employees as a priority. Knowledge of security metrics is essential for this position.
• Determines resolution of intermediate technical issues as necessary and ensures technical work meets specified requirements.
• Contributes to the development of corrective and alternative actions.
• Contributes significantly to the agreements/actions of your CFT team.
Experiencia y requisitos
• General knowledge of the disciplines (GPM, GQR, GDP, ISO13485 and Operations).
• Green belt or Black belt certification.
• Knowledge of programs: Agile, Oracle and advanced Excel.
• Knowledge of Statistics, use of Minitab software, process capacity analysis.
• Root cause analysis (5 Why’s, RCCA, Paretos, Cause-Effect Diagram, etc.)
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing (8D's, 5S's, SMED, VSM, Visual management, OEE) and implementation of process improvements.
• Basic knowledge of metrology, interpretation of Drawings and tolerances.
• Project management, knowledge of Microsoft Project software for Gantt preparation.
• Basic knowledge of Finance (cost-benefit analysis, ROI, cash Flow, etc.).
• Basic knowledge of sterilization processes.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with collaborators from different departments.
• Ability to work with integrity and build trust.
• Problem solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to critically review and interpret technical documentation.
• Ability to work precisely with attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet key deadlines under pressure through effective time management skills.
• Ability to clearly transmit ideas and concepts verbally and in writing (Spanish and English).
• Ability to work effectively both independently and with team members.
• A university degree in Engineering is required.
• At least 5 years of experience in the medical device industry.
• Complete understanding and broad application of technical principles, theories and concepts in the field of engineering.
• Experience in generating cost reduction ideas, efficiency improvements and scrap reduction in product lines.
• Experience in decision making based on risk analysis (pFMEA, dFMEA, Risk Management, etc.).
