The Supply Chain Specialist – Pain
Management is responsible for maintaining a stable and reliable supply chain for the Pain Management product line at the Tijuana manufacturing site. This product line has historically faced challenges with suppliers, including material changes, shortages, Supplier Change Notifications (SCNs), quality issues, corrective actions, and lack of supplier engagement with ICU Medical.
This role requires strong project management capabilities and soft skills to understand ICU’s internal supply chain processes and lead strategic efforts that proactively resolve material supply issues. The specialist will be accountable for ensuring uninterrupted material flow, building strong supplier relationships, mitigating risks, and driving compliance with internal and external requirements.
Key Responsibilities
1. End-to-end supply chain leadership for the Pain Management product line.
2. Drive material availability, vendor/material changes, BOM & process updates within the Quality System.
3. Collaborate with planning teams to ensure capacity plans, production schedules and backorder recovery.
4. Partner closely with the Business Unit to support:
• Portfolio rationalization
• Standardization initiatives
• Evaluation and qualification of new sterilization partners near TIJ
5. Lead cross-functional improvement projects and ensure global communication (Planning, Commercial, Quality, Ops).
6. Act as product line “owner” from the supply chain perspective, ensuring stability and long-term readiness for the business
Experiencia y requisitos
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or related field.
- Advanced English proficiency (written and spoken).
- 3–5 years minimum in supply chain, production planning, or related functions.
- Experience within regulated industries (medical devices preferred).
- Desired: experience in kitting operations / kitting businesses
- Ability to manage complex cross-functional initiatives.
- Strong communication with executive-level stakeholders.
- Problem solving, data analysis, and project leadership skills.
- Ability to work with global teams and influence decision making.
- High initiative and ownership mindset.
