We are seeking a Customs Operations Coordinator to support our operation in Irapuato, Guanajuato. This role serves as a liaison between the company, customs brokers, and logistics providers, supporting import, export, and domestic shipment activities, including IMMEX operations.

The ideal candidate will have knowledge of Mexican Customs procedures, import/export documentation, and cross-border logistics, with strong organizational skills and attention to detail to support daily customs operations and documentation processes.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Customs Operations & Logistics Coordination

  • Support import, export, IMMEX, and domestic shipment activities.
  • Monitor shipments and coordinate with brokers, carriers, and logistics providers to ensure timely execution.
  • Assist with daily customs and logistics operations, documentation, and follow-up activities.

Documentation & Customs Processing

  • Review customs documentation, including pedimentos, invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, and shipping documents.
  • Ensure documentation accuracy and completeness prior to customs clearance.
  • Assist with document collection and submission to customs brokers and internal stakeholders.
  • Maintain customs records and documentation in accordance with company procedures.

Execution & Service Delivery

  • Support daily import/export transactions and shipment activities.
  • Review pedimentos and supporting documentation for accuracy and completeness.
  • Coordinate activities with brokers, carriers, and internal stakeholders throughout the customs process.
  • Assist in resolving customs clearance, transportation, and documentation issues.

IMMEX & Inventory Support

  • Support IMMEX operations, including temporary imports, returns, and transfers.
  • Assist with Annex 24 documentation and inventory control activities.
  • Support the handling of materials, finished goods, and intercompany transfers.
  • Assist with USMCA and trade program documentation as required.

Experiencia y requisitos

Most important qualifications — execution profile: strong attention to detail, a sense of urgency, a customer service mindset, communication skills, organization, and the ability to follow up effectively on multiple activities simultaneously.

  • Bachelor's degree in International Trade, Logistics, Supply Chain, Business, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • 1-3 years of experience in Mexican Customs, IMMEX operations, import/export processes, logistics, or related areas.
  • Experience supporting shipments between Mexico, the United States, and international destinations.
  • Familiarity with domestic transportation and logistics operations within Mexico.
  • Basic understanding of customs broker processes, pedimentos, and import/export documentation.
  • Experience working with customs brokers, freight forwarders, carriers, warehouses, and transportation providers.
  • Ability to review and validate customs documentation for accuracy and completeness.
  • Strong organizational, follow-up, and coordination skills.
  • Fluency in Spanish and English required.
