Descripción y detalle de las actividades

Responsible for engineering IFE projects within the Systems Installation group from a wiring and seat integration design standpoint; from systems integration to installation. Shall be responsible to engineer, design and develop system installation packages based on customers’, regulatory and OEM’s requirements for production and retrofit applications. Has specific technical project or product responsibility.


  • Support Systems Installation Group
  • Support Program Management, Certification, Marketing and other departments to coordinate program requirements.
  • Provide support for planning, customer meetings, preliminary design review (PDR), critical design review (CDR), First Article Inspection (FAI), aircraft surveys, aircraft installations, etc.
  • Review products and provide feedback to Senior Engineers and Management.
  • Coordinate design requirements and review applications for existing programs.
  • Work with external engineering groups to integrate third-party vendor equipment with our systems.
  • Provide technical direction to members of assigned work teams.
  • Engineer, Design and Develop System Installation Packages
  • Utilize AutoCAD, BricsCAD, Siemens or equivalent design tool to perform design responsibilities for wiring diagrams, cable assemblies, seat configuration, wiring/structural installation drawings, etc.
  • Provide inputs to Drafters for systems design criteria to support aircraft installations.
  • Assist in the guidance and direction for problem solving to Drafters.
  • Support development of drawing/document standards per customer and regulatory agency requirements.
  • Produce seat installation engineering documentation to support airline customer’s requirements.

Experiencia y requisitos

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE)
  • 5–10 years of electrical/seat design experience in the aircraft industry:
  • Less than five years of electrical design experience, must hold a university degree specifically in Electrical Engineering.
  • Candidates with an academic background other than Electrical Engineering must have at least five years of hands-on experience in electrical design.
  • Strong background and understanding of airline regulatory guidelines and design requirements for aircraft wiring.
  • Solid knowledge of avionic parts used in designing and manufacturing cable assemblies and sheet metal brackets (e.g., connectors, contacts, wire types, sheet metal materials, finishes).
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, CATIA, PRO-E, or other design software.
  • Advanced English proficiency (minimum equivalent to TOEFL score of 85).
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both written and verbal.
  • Visa required. This position may involve up to 25% domestic or international travel for coordination meetings and program reviews at manufacturing sites.
