Quality Assurance Engineer

Responsibilities: Assist in maintaining and improving the effectiveness of the Quality Management System (QMS). Conduct regular inspections and tests of materials, components, and finished modules to ensure compliance with specifications and standards. Collect and analyze quality data, including defect rates, rework rates, and other relevant metrics. Identify trends and patterns to pinpoint root causes of quality issues. Assist in the investigation and resolution of non-conforming materials, processes, or products. Contribute to the creation and implementation of corrective actions. Participate actively in continuous improvement initiatives, suggesting and implementing solutions to improve quality, efficiency, and productivity. Maintain accurate and organized records of inspections, tests, and non-conformance reports. Work effectively with other departments (e.g., production, engineering, purchasing) to address quality concerns and promote a culture of quality throughout the organization. Assist in the development and delivery of training materials related to quality assurance procedures and best practices. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Assurance, or a related technical field. 2-4 years of experience in a quality assurance role, preferably within a manufacturing environment. Understanding of quality control methodologies and principles. Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving, and analytical skills. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Bilingual (Spanish and English). Desired Skills: Experience with ISO 9001 or other quality management standards. Experience in the construction or prefabricated building industry. Knowledge of relevant building codes and regulations. Work Location: MDI Facility, Tijuana, Mexico (relocation fees are not provided

Structural – Project Engineer

Project Management: Serve as the Project Manager for structural prefabricated modular projects, ensuring timely and budget-compliant delivery. Coordinate project phases from inception through final integration, maintaining open communication with MDI Leadership. Design and Development: Partner with the DOMO Design and Development team to engineer standardized structural modules that enhance efficiency and minimize costs. Assist in converting structural designs into production-ready drawings with the MDI Engineering teams. Critically evaluate structural building designs for their impact on MDI module fabrication. Construction Oversight: Oversee on-site module assembly, ensuring compliance with quality and structural integrity standards. Quality Assurance: Conduct rigorous reviews (EDR – Engineering Design Reviews) of final structural elements to ensure compatibility with blueprint specifications; internal & external. Process Control: Oversee the structural supply chain and manage construction costs, employing patented connection systems to enhance efficiency. Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Collaborate with engineering, construction, and legal teams to maintain project viability and regulatory compliance. Requirements: Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or a related field 6-10 years in structural design, real estate development, or construction; at least 5 years in project management, ideally in modular or prefabricated environments Proficiency in structural design software (AutoCAD/Revit), project management tools (Smartsheet, MS Project, MS Office), and familiarity with building codes (IBC/CBC); reading and properly interpretate structural & architectural drawings Exemplary leadership and communication skills; adept at budgeting; capable of managing multiple projects under pressure and liaising with external consultants. Fluent bilingual in English and Spanish.
