Nellcor fue fundada en 1981 y su calidad le ganó rápidamente gran prestigio internacional al diseñar una amplia gama de oxisensores y monitores de seguridad. Puritan Bennett, por su parte, nació en 1913 como una pequeña fábrica de gases y llegó a ser pionera en el uso del oxígeno en el campo de la medicina. En 1956 desarrolló la primer tecnología en ventilación pulmonar y se convirtió en el proveedor líder de ventiladores para cuidados críticos, hasta el día de hoy. Covidien is committed to contributing to the availability of affordable, quality healthcare in the markets in which we compete around the world. Additionally, we will fund local programs that provide care and treatment for specific diseases and address the needs of the communities in which we operate. This Mission will be accomplished through the creation of the Covidien Partnership for Neighborhood Wellness, which will provide financial resources, employee expertise and healthcare products to communities in need. The Covidien Partnership for Neighborhood Wellness provides each of our locations with financial resources and donated products to make an impact in their communities. Our locations are encouraged to support the needs of their local community health centers. Additionally, our employees are encouraged to volunteer their time to organizations important to them.
