Descripción y detalle de las actividades
Primary Responsibilities - Manufacturing Engineer II (Sr)
- Define and document production process flows, work instructions, and line layouts for electromechanical assembly, including relay/contactors fabrication, subassembly, final integration, and testing.
- Develop and implement manufacturing procedures for processes such as precision mechanical assembly, soldering, crimping, torquing, electrical functional testing, environmental screening, and troubleshooting of electromechanical components.
- Apply Lean tools (e.g., Value Stream Mapping (VSM), 5S, FMEA, process mapping, Kaizen) to identify and eliminate waste, reduce cycle times, and improve first-pass yield.
- Analyze engineering drawings, 3D models, BOMs, and specifications to assess manufacturability (DFM/DFA principles) and recommend design changes for improved production efficiency and reliability.
- Troubleshoot production issues related to electromechanical performance (e.g., contact resistance, coil failures, mechanical binding, electrical intermittent events) and implement corrective actions, including root cause analysis tools.
- Support new product introduction (NPI), prototype builds, and qualification testing; participate in design reviews.
- Design, specify, and qualify production tooling, fixtures, jigs, and test equipment for electromechanical assembly and validation.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as yield, scrap rates, rework, drive improvement initiatives.
- Ensure all processes comply with aerospace quality standards (AS9100, AS9102 First Article Inspections), customer requirements, and safety regulations.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with design engineers, quality, supply chain, and production floor teams; provide technical guidance and training to technicians.
- Participate in Material Review Board (MRB) and Change Control Board (CCB) activities for discrepant materials and engineering changes.
- Work hands on with operators as required to train and evaluate tool use and improvements.
