Position Summary
This role requires a person with strong technical aptitude, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage a high transaction volume in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The Operations Coordinator will work closely with all departments including Production, Maintenance, Engineering, Quality, Inventory Control, Customer Service, and Management to help ensure smooth day-to-day operations across the plant.
Purchasing & Procurement
- Purchase machine parts, maintenance materials, manufacturing supplies, and operational materials for the production facility.
- Work closely with Maintenance, Engineering, and Production teams to identify technical specifications and sourcing requirements for replacement parts and process improvement materials.
- Monitor inventory levels of critical operational materials and support preventive purchasing activities to avoid production interruptions.
Bills of Materials (BOM) Management
- Create, maintain, and update Bills of Materials (BOMs) for finished goods and manufacturing processes.
- Support import/export and customs documentation processes through accurate BOM creation and material structure management.
- Analyze production materials, formulations, packaging structures, and manufacturing components to ensure BOM accuracy.
- Coordinate with Production, Engineering, Quality, and Administrative departments to maintain accurate product and material data.
Production Planning & Coordination
- Assist with production planning and scheduling activities across extrusion, printing, and converting departments.
- Continuously communicate with department leaders regarding production priorities, schedule adjustments, material availability, machine status, and customer requirements.
- Help coordinate workflow between departments to improve productivity and on-time delivery performance.
- Provide schedule updates and operational communication to internal stakeholders throughout the day.
Experiencia y requisitos
Qualifications & Requirements
- Engineering degree required (Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, Electromechanical, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field).
- Minimum 5 years of manufacturing experience required.
- Must be fully fluent in both English and Spanish.
- Strong technical aptitude and ability to understand manufacturing processes, machinery, and materials.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills with a highly methodical approach to work.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- High energy level with the ability to manage a large number of daily transactions and communications.
- Strong computer and spreadsheet skills required.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and adapt quickly to changing priorities.
- Experience in manufacturing planning, purchasing, inventory control, ERP/MRP systems, or production coordination is highly preferred.
Work Schedule
- On-site position located in Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico.
- Standard schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
- Occasional evening and weekend work may be required depending on operational needs.
