Production Planner

Primary Responsibilities

·       Releasing work orders: based material requirements planning suggestion (MRP), as well as tracking work in progress (WIP) to ensure jobs are on track.

·       Create production plans: develop detailed daily or weekly production schedules specifying what products are made, in what quantity and on which line or machine.

·       Expediting and prioritization: handling urgent customer orders by inserting them into the schedule, which often requires re-prioritizing existing schedule.

·       Shortages management: identifying material shortages that could halt production and working with procurement (buyers/Internal Suppliers) to expedite deliveries.

·       Bill of material (BOM) verification: ensuring the current backflush locations are correct and type of materials are allocated to each job.

·       Control and check errors: taking any corrective action so that deviations from standards are minimized and stated goals of the organization are achieved in the desired manner.
