Bachelor’s degree in chemical, Environmental, Industrial, Mechanical, Safety, or a related Engineering discipline, with a master’s degree preferred. Professional certifications preferred or desirable, such as CSP, CIH, ISO Lead Auditor, or credentials in Process Safety Management (PSM), Risk Assessment, Emergency Response, and Industrial Hygiene. 8–12+ years of progressive EHS experience, including a minimum of 5 years in high-risk chemical process or hazardous gas environments, specifically with Ethylene Oxide (EtO) or regulated manufacturing. Proven experience interacting with regulatory agencies (such as SEMARNAT, PROFEPA, ASEA, STPS, IMSS, Civil Protection, and Fire Department) and applying local regulations (like NOM-028-STPS-2012). Demonstrated expertise leading Process Safety Management (PSM) programs and principles, including Process Hazard Analysis (PHA), HAZOP, Layer of Protection Analysis (LOPA), and Management of Change (MOC) processes. Extensive experience conducting internal and external EHS audits, with deep knowledge of ISO 14001 (Environmental) and ISO 45001 (Occupational Health and Safety) management systems. Strong track record in accident investigation, Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and the effective execution of preventive and corrective action plans. Solid knowledge of industrial hygiene programs, exposure monitoring, environmental permitting, hazardous waste management, and air emissions compliance. Expertise in emergency preparedness, response planning, Incident Command Systems (ICS), crisis management, and proficiency in EHS management software. Strong leadership, team management, exceptional organizational, and time-management skills, with the flexibility to adapt to changing priorities. Advanced English proficiency (90% or higher), both written and spoken.
