ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. · Oversee procurement of electronic components, fabricated parts, and indirect materials in line with specifications and demand. · Manage and mentor a team of offshore buyers, ensuring proficient performance, process adherence, and professional development. · Establish clear performance metrics for the team (cost savings, on-time delivery, quality compliance). · Provide regular coaching and training to team members · Create, release, manage and/or review purchase orders using ERP/MRP systems. · Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships; monitor supplier performance on cost, delivery, and quality metrics. · Negotiate pricing, lead times, and contract terms to achieve cost savings and secure supply. · Work with Customer Service, Engineering, Production, and Quality to resolve material shortages or quality concerns. · Ensure accurate purchasing and inventory data within the ERP system. · Prepare and deliver regular performance reports, progress updates, and key procurement metrics · Escalate material shortages, supplier risks, or team performance concerns as needed · Arrange transportation and logistics for inbound materials. · Collaborate with Accounting on invoice reconciliation and returns. · Drive process improvements, standardization, and automation in procurement workflows.
